Every week we get an email letter from our son's on missions (and sometimes we get real letters in the mail) and if we are really lucky they send pictures. As I was reading Taylor's letter I realized how much he has grown and matured during this experinece. He has loved serving the people of Quebec, both LDS and non-LDS. Currently he is living in Montreal meeting with and teaching investigators and spending time with LDS families in the area. His companion is from Tahiti and, well let me just share what Tay wrote
We are on week 5 of 6 for this transfer and I still feel like Elder Pohue and I are new and finding our way around on the bus and metros. I have had my fair share of fun with this crazy Polynesian companion of mine. He is the most calm happy-go-lucky person I know. He loves exotic fruits so we go to the market beside our house and raid their fresh fruits. Our house is filled with the scent of mangoes, dorians, guitar and four missionaries. What more could one ask for?
They travel using public transportation and walk all over. He absolutley loves living in the city.
If I was given the option to spend summer anywhere downtown Montreal would be on the top of my list. Once again this city is going through a whimsical transformation. It has been very warm as of late and very very green. The sunshine, humidity and rain have changed the frozen wasteland to lush jungle and in result procured a picture perfect urban landscape.
He will be returning home is 59 days!! And I am so excited, our family with go to the airport and wait near baggage claim and I guarantee you I will be the first one to run and embrace him. I remember when he first left and I was so sad, one fellow missionary mom shared that I had one of the happiest days of my life to look forward to, the day he returned.
And that my friends is 59 days away!
