Hard to believe that I am doing this again so soon, but I am so proud of the choices both of my oldest sons have made to give of their time to do something they believe in, serving a two year missison.. In July of 2010 my oldest son Taylor, left to serve a two year proselytizing LDS mission in Montreal, Canada.
Now Justin, my second son, has also chosen to serve a mission for our church.
It is helpful to know he doesn't get to choose where he goes,
It could be anywhere from Reno, Nevada (close to us), Washington, New Zealand, Brazil, or Canada. There are over 300 missions throughout the world.
So
He receieved his mission call yesterday and learned that he will be serving in the Cebu mission in the Phillipines. WHAT?
YES- He is so excited!! He will study for eight weeks at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, then travel to Cebu where he will be speaking Cebuano. The next two months will be filled with preparation and anticipation for his journey. He enters the MTC the middle of May.
Wow-I am experiencing so many emotions, mostly excitement and apprehension, with a huge does of pride. After he leaves is when it will hit me that he is gone and then the adjusting will start. It will be hard on me I know that now. Anytime your kids grow and leave home it is hard.
