the possibilities are endless

You must pay attention to TED

About_ted

What is TED? People it is a super cool organization that...

TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader.

TED has enriched my life in many ways, mostly through listening and sharing of TED talks. A few of my favorites are below, please check out the website, watch a talk, or connect in some way. I believe your life will also be enriched.

SO VALIDATING!! Doodlers Unite presented by Sunni Brown

Love what Brene Brown is doing, she talks about whole heart living, dealing with shame, and being vulnerable.

Just plain fun!!  Erik Johansson shares how he composes impossible photos

So moving and stunning, you won't regret viewing this by Camille Seaman: Icebergs

hope you enjoyed and that you were inspired!

My TED dream is to attend this cool sounding 2013 conference. It costs $7500 and you have to apply to attend. Wow, good dream

Thanks TED

Chances to Try: Gratitude Day 2

I love the internet

I am thankful that so many talented people are willing to share and teach others using the internet as their medium.

I am grateful that I can learn something new, try out a new hobby, dabble in diy projects. This enriches my life beyond explanation.

Here are some examples.

Ted Talk excerpt from Matt Cutts

Try Something New for 30 Days

Miss Mustard Seed teaches how to refinish furniture and much more and then inspires us to "Move mountains in your homes"

I could list hundreds of other sites and people, however I am keeping this doable. What have you learned from the internet?

Execute on those good ideas

I am the queen of gathering and gathering good project ideas- for home decor projects, scrapbook layouts, handmade gifts, you name it. I have found that I need to make time to just execute on a project.  I saw this glass jar framing idea a while back and knew I had to do it. (by the way love photojojo) When I was spring cleaning my space I decided to do this with favorite childhood book covers instead of photos. It took minutes to gather everything and no time at all to put together. Guess what, every time I look at I am so glad I got off the computer and did something. Anyone else struggle with this? Well if so, pick something simple you have been wanting to do and do it- you will be so thrilled.

(sorry for the yucky photo, glass is hard to photograph)

It is going to be a good week

Oh yeah, I have heard the 2009 summer song so many times I even am even writing the lyrics as blog titles.

Anyway- hope everyone had a fantastic long weekend, we cleaned out our garage on Saturday, not fun but very necessary. Kent and I have taken off for a few days to Bear Lake and it feels weird to be away from home, from the kids, from the noises of our house. I am sure I will relax and enjoy it, but for now I am a bit anxious. I have tons of scrapbooking to do, lots of movies to watch, and or course books to read.

(speaking of books, I am really enjoy this collection of short stories called The Friend Who Got Away: Twenty Women's True Life Tales of Friendships that Blew Up, Burned Out or Faded Away by Jenny Offill, Elissa Schappell)

(thanks Ann and Michael for the recommendation)

Speaking of books, I am very excited to be blogging this week about Ella. Visit the site to see what it is all about. Check out their new ezine (that is where the posted layouts are from) and if you comment on the their blog today, you are entered to win a super cool printer from Epson.

A few of my favorite layouts from this months' ezine

and if you haven't yet discovered fabric goodness go to a local quilt or fabric store. They have the new product releases from May quilt market and you are sure to be inspired.

I recently picked up some fabric line called Bubblegum Basics for a project that I will share with you tomorrow.

site for eye candy

OK, I am the first to admit, I spend quite a bit of time hanging out online, checking out cool sites, reading blogs, and learning.

I am in love with this new site- the idea of having a career as  a candy/dessert stylist is so dreamy. I don't see my future heading that way so I follow the one and only Amy Atlas.

Favorite photos below, if you need to see more, check out her website, you won't regret it.
