Boy am I late in responding-

better late than never, right?

I have been tagged by the lovely Nancy Nally to participate in the "Be Original" blog project started by Mohit Singhania. The purpose of the project is for bloggers to share how they come up with original content for their blogs.

Cool Images-I intuitively search the web- From Etsy to Flickr – then I follow the paths laid out by images that grab my attention- I then talk about why I like the image, and share my unique perspective

Here are a few of mine

I don’t wear any jewelry, let alone my wedding ring. When my kids were younger I stopped wearing earrings because they would grab them all the time-and then when I was pregnant with twins I couldn’t wear my wedding ring because my hands were so swollen- I just got used to wearing no jewelry and now I like it—in fact it bothers me to wear any jewelry so I rarely do.

I am a super picky eater-I could list everything I don’t like, but that would bore both you and me.

I have to sleep with white noise, like a fan, in the background- this helps me both fall asleep and stay asleep

I often don’t finish my sentences- it drives my oldest son crazy- he has to remind me what we were talking about because my crazy head has already moved onto something else.

[Those of you that email with me know this, you also know that I do this --- to indicate in the middle of a sentence that I am done]

I always have to have something to look at or read, like a magazine, book, or catalog wherever I am. Not so much at home---I am afraid I will be stuck somewhere with nothing to do I guess--kind of strange

Amazing, isn’t it?  You’re finding meaning in a mass of jumbled letters.    How is this possible?

In our paragraph, your brain takes a bit of information (the first and last letters) and activates the "word" channel and you see and understand the word.  This is why when we sit down and try to will new ideas or solutions, we tend to keep coming up with the same-old, same-old ideas.  Information is flowing down the same ruts and grooves making the same-old connections producing the same old ideas over and over again.

just like they age old scrapbook debate about
multi photo layouts vs single photo layouts-

both are good, both are worthy, you are the storyteller so you decide.
As for me- I do my layouts both ways- depending on the story.

I enjoy driving or walking in old neighborhoods looking at the different houses. When my

husband and I were first married we lived in the Historic avenues neighborhood  near downtown

in Salt Lake City. We were surrounded by cool older houses. I was always drawn to the doors,

porches, and windows- wonder why... I  let my mind wander and think about

who lives there- who used to live there?

what does the house look like?

who built it?

is it a happy house?

what stories are held within its' walls--

We could all use more positive reinforcement- I know I do!

It seems that those of us involved in this hobby are especially vulnerable to judge our abilities in a negative way--- that is not good. Life is to short to be down on yourself.

Now if only I could believe that 100% of the time. I have struggled with self-doubt to many times I care to remember.
I am going to share my favorite all-time quote.
