As I mentioned earlier, I have been going through all of my layouts and organizing them. The four below I made for one of my magazine columns, and I have to say, I love these layouts- all four of them. I noticed that on my 12 x 12 layouts I start with a base or foundation, this gives me a place to anchor photos, journaling, and accents. Employing this approach makes it easier for me to design a layout that I like each and every time.
The foundation on the first three layouts are similar- it is a solid colored extended photo mat that I add decorative elements to the left over space, like a title or sticker accents.
This last layout the foundation is a line, I then build on top and on bottom of that line overlapping and layering as I go. I need to do this more often, I really like the look.
Do you have a foundation or design starting point on your layouts? Or do you like to use sketches?
I have been going through all of my layouts and organizing them into new albums as I prepare for a new bookcase to display these in. Wow, talk about fun and eye opening. Of course I decided to share some of these with you, my loyal and awesome blog readers.
I love this title and want to do a layout for each of my kids with it
If You Could See What I See...
I seem to have been in a phase with using groups of squares and rectangles as accents see the layouts below.
