Remember this post about my struggles with the fall weather? Well so many of you did a spin off of what you liked about this time of year and it made me think of other things I enjoy about the fall.
and
when I was reading the latest Ella book, Happy Scrapbooker, inside was a layout done by Stacy Julian that listed summer memories, and it was a long list.(and a cute page)
So
I started jotting down my happy fall thoughts and made a layout
you know it-and it felt like summer for a little bit
Lain Ehmann did a layout that illustrated the point that happiness doesn't come from stuff but it comes from people and I had to lift that concept.
My son Justin is one of those kids that attracts people, like a magnet. From the time he was old enough to ask for friends to come over and play, he always wanted someone to play with. He preferred playing with friends as a reward instead of getting new toys. The journaling talks about this part of his personality and how we tried to support it.
I appreciated how this book encouraged me to look at parts of my life differently. Now I want one of my readers to also have this chance...
So
Ella Publishing agreed to give one copy away. You have 24 hours to enter, leave a comment and answer the following question
??Has your reason for scrapbooking changed since you first started??
for example, when I started scrapbooking I wanted to make chronological albums of all my kids, now it is a way to share stories, document our daily lives, and be creative.
Contest ends Tuesday, Oct 27 @noon MST, the winner will be announced on Wednesday, along with the winner of the other contest.
Contest Closed
Enjoy!
It absolutely has changed. I first started so that I could get all my photos in a creative album and now I do it so I can remember and enjoy the stories of our lives. I used to always feel behind, now I am just glad when I get a page done because it is one story recorded to remember. Never feel behind any more. Love that.

Oh how I've changed (smirk!)- it was all about my girls 7 years ago - get every moment and get it down on paper - jot down what they said where we were - you get the picture. Now that I have a grandson it is now all about him!
This is my first visit to you blog - I can't wait to snoop farther! :)

My primary purpose of preserving memories for my kids hasn't changed. But the kinds of memories I am documenting has changed. Instead of always focusing on birthdays and holidays, I'm also doing more layouts that reflect their personal qualities and their relationships to each other and all our family members.

I first started to scrapbook my first baby. Now I enjoy making albums or layouts for family and having a creative outlet - when I can find the time.

That is so hard to answer ... and I don't know why! I started out thinking how cute it would be to do a 'baby album'. Quickly, it became an all-consuming obsession (er, passion). I now use it to document my everyday, my family's accomplishments and tragedies; to unleash my inner artist and to learn something new everyday; to journal about myself in a small way. Technically, I went from a paper scrapper, to a digital one, to a hybrid one - to now a mixed media novice. Which some would say isn't scrapbooking ... but to me? It still is.
Anyway, yeah, my idea has changed ... and I have changed!

Yes, my scrapbooking has changed alot!! It used to be all about the new stuff and copying the latest sketches. Now it's about showing my family how much I love them, how proud I am to be their mom. To show my husband that we do appreciate him and all of his hard work. I enjoy being creative and remembering when the photos were taken!! Yes, scrapbooking has opened my eyes to my life.

My reason for scrapping has not really changed since I started. it is my way of using the photos I love to take and doing something creative to showcase them.

Nah. i still do it for me and didn't know whan I started i was missing that creative element in my life. And now it has taken over. and over. and over. My way of doing things has changed alot since the beginning and my photos are more interesting. bestof all my family is more involved with bits and pieces of scrapbooking.

I dont think my reason has changed all that much - I saw it as a way of dealing with all those memories in my head and those thousands of photos lying around. Maybe I have more realistic ideas about those thousands of photos now, but it is still all about the memories!

Definitely changed. At first it was to create baby books. Now its all about telling stories.
