the possibilities are endless

I am super excited to be working with a local lifestyle show, Studio 5, and bringing the Shoebox Challenge to photo keepers everywhere.

What is Project Shoebox?

Project Shoebox is the incentive you need to empty that shoebox of old photos. Heirloom photos to forgotten prints, everyone has photos to reclaim and rediscover. The Project Shoebox community, curated and hosted by Studio 5 contributor Wendy Smedley (that is me), is a safe place to learn how to archive and share photos, collect old stories, and organize treasured images in a safe place.

The Project Shoebox challenge is simple. Just scan one old photo. Then share it. Collect stories. And feel the satisfaction. You will have created a memory with a memory.

Wednesday, 1/31/, I will launch the challenge and share a handful of photos + scanning tips. You can participate by streaming the show live here, runs from 11:00 am-12:00 pm MST, or you can watch an archived version later in the day. Either way think about joining in and scanning your own photos.

I have been scanning photos from the 90's and wow, my photography has improved drastically!

Jacob was hard to impress when he was small, we called him, "poker face" because his expression

would remain unreadable. See what I mean?

Jacob
and know he is the most smiley of my kids, always grinning and super happy.

My oldest son has been serving a LDS mission since July 28, 2010 and that means we have NOT SEEN him since then. We have stayed in touch with weekly letters and a  handful of phone calls. I am unable to articulate how EXCITED I am to see him!!!! In preparation I am writing and sharing some favorite photos and stories of him. (Hey I am a scrapbooker)

My 80's hair, and countdown to the MTC!

I have been scanning and uploading photos in an attempt to do some archiving, and oh wow, it has been interesting to look back.

Check out my serious big permed hair! Yes it was the 80's and that is how we did things. These photos are all from my college days. (isn't my sister Laurie so cute?)
